Christmas Lights Old

There’s nothing like the sparkle of Christmas lights to give our community an instant festive makeover.

As you know, the Community Council own a number of Christmas lights which light up the trees and shrubbery opposite the Cults Hotel. This makes for a wonderful festive backdrop for our annual community carol singing event.

This 2018 winter season we have even more festive lights in Cults, Bieldside and Milltimbercl01

Your community council embarked on a Christmas Lights Project during 2016 with the aim of introducing new lighting into our community for this festive season. We reached out to more local businesses for sponsorship in 2017 and were delighted to announce we had obtained sufficient sponsorship to fund over twenty new sets of lights, which were mounted on street lights at prominent positions along the North Deeside Road in Cults, Bieldside and Milltimber.  In 2018 we have secured more lights making a total of 33 this year.

The Community Council would like to thank and acknowledge the following local business for their fantastic support and sponsorship:

Aberdeen Clinic
CKD Galbraith Aberdeen
Scott Gilmour Optometrists

Bancon Homes

the Davidson family

Esker Spirits

Kippie Lodge

Clr. Malik

Ross Thomson MP

and several donors who wished to remain anonymous.

This is the next stage of an ongoing project to erect Christmas Lights along the North Deeside Road in Cults, Bieldside and Milltimber.  The Community Council has no budget for this initiative; our aim is to obtain sponsorship from local business to fund this community project.
This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses to support our drive to brighten up the heart of our community during the festive period, fostering good will, boosting the collective feel good factor and potentially attracting more people into our local businesses.

The Community Council are committed to working with local businesses to create the best possible light display; let’s work together and provide a little bit of festive magic for all to see.
