Aberdeen City Council Waste Collections – July 2020

The fortnightly collection of household mixed recycling bins and brown bin collections (for garden waste and food waste) will return from next month (Monday August 3 2020). Collection days will remain the same and fortnightly calendars will be available from lunchtime Monday 20 July, check the Aberdeen City Council website.

Aberdeen City Council want to let you know that you can now renew your garden waste permit.
The cost of your permit has not changed, it is still £30 which covers up to two brown bins per household.
Payment is online only; no cash or cheques are accepted.
The website for requesting a permit can be found HERE

Your permit will be posted to your home within 21 days of ordering. You should order your permit by 10 August 2020 to ensure it arrives in time for 1 September 2020.

Once it has arrived, follow the instructions on the reverse of your permit and attach it to your brown bin so the collection crew knows to empty garden waste.

Do not attach your new permit on top of last year’s as it will not stick. The new permit must stick directly to the surface of your brown bin.

You will only need to pay the charge if you choose to use the garden waste service. You will not have to pay if you only use your brown bin for food waste.

If you do not wish to sign up for the service you can continue to recycle your garden waste at your local Household Waste and Recycling Centre or you can try home composting. If you are interested in home composting please download our leaflet.
