Here is an update on a road issue at Bieldside which has been ongoing since last Friday
There is either a blocked or collapsed culvert which runs underneath North Deeside Road at Bieldside near the entrance to the Camphill Newton Dee Estate (see attached plan). You can see on the plan that the culvert runs under the current North Deeside Road and below the old section of North Deeside Road.
Aberdeen City Council teams have been pumping water over the weekend to stop properties on the south side of North Deeside Road from being flooded.
From this afternoon, Monday, North Deeside Road will be reduced to one lane ( under Traffic lights) to allow work to commence to dig down to the culvert, break it open and clear the blockage. Phase 1 of this work will unfortunately be to remove a tree which must be removed to safeguard the safety of the staff.
This work will require ACC Roads Dept. to appoint a contractor with specialist trenching equipment which they hope will commence either today or tomorrow morning.
As we get mote news about the work, we will pass it on.
